What is S japonicus

All our strains are derivative of IFO1609 which is the Sz. japonicus ‘type’ strain. IFO1609 is an original strain from Yukawa and Maki (1931), and single colony isolate of IFO1609 is available as NIG2021 from our web site. The same strain as IFO1609 is also available from other organizations; ATCC10660 (ATCC), FY16936 (NBRP, Japan), NBRC1609 (NITE).
