Voltinism Univoltine. Eggs were preserved at 0° and hatching period was adjusted. In the wild, eggs hatch from late April to early May. In captivity, eggs hatch from May to July.
Mutation There are cocoons in emerald green color and moths with long pupal period.

Origin People's Republic of China. Breeding started in Japan in year 1877.

Host Plants Quercus acutissima leaves were used in subculturing. Similar to Antheraea yamamai Guerin-Meneville
Voltinism It happens once or twice a year. First generation is in May to July and second generation is in August to September. Breeding period can be adjusted if pupa is cyropreserved. Voltinism and day length is closely related. At age 5 (4th larval instar), more than 15 hours of daylight will result in non-diapause but less than 13 hours of daylight will result in diapause.

Origin Assam region in India. In 1938, it was brought from India to Taiwan and then imported to Japan.

Voltinism Happens once (1 generation) or twice (2 generations) a year in the wild. First generation is in May to July and second generation is in August to September. It changes to bivoltine under long-day condition. Under captivity, almost all are univoltine but some are bivoltine.
