[Japanese studbook number: Nomascus leucogenys #3] The individual's name contains "Jirou", which is unique to a female and is often contained in males' names; however, the origin of her name is unknown. She is often called "Mon-chan". Her body is covered with gradations from white to orange-yellow and gold-brown. There is a black patch on the top of her head. One of her eyes seems to be poor. As long as we observed her eating, "Mon-chan" did well eating foods by looking at them and controlling her hands. She likes dried fish. Song of Monjirou was recorded on October 11, 2011. |
