The individual is a gibbon of Mr. Pryer. He was exhibited at a pet shop in Tokyo presumably two months after his birth. Although he had been offered to the Animal Research Institute of Japan, he was transferred to us after negotiations. (Comment: it is unclear which institution the name indicates.) He was then moved to the United States.
