Information
The EGFP expression takes place in the anterior neuroectoderm at 60–70% epiboly and early somite stage. By the 10-somite stage, the expression is lost in the most rostral part that corresponds to the future telencephalon and hypothalamus. The expression also becomes weak in the pretectum and anterior tectum. These patterns closely recapitulates the endogenous expression of otx2.
