Wheat Taxonomy

Wheat Taxonomy

Classification of Triticum according to Flaksberger 1935.

Flaksberger's 1935 monograph of Triticum [reference] is largely unknown outside of Russia. It offers a traditional taxonomic treatment based on morphological and cytological traits and has been influential in structuring the modern concept of Triticum sensu stricto as offered by Schiemann (1948), Jakubziner (1959), Dorofeev et al. (1979), and Gandilyan (1980). The classification is presented here in its original form with corrections in spelling and authority citations.
