Reports of the study-tours for rice species

Dedicated to the late Dr. H. Morishima

Digitized reports of rice studies (compiled from 1957 to 1997)

These reports offer information on wild rice (W strain) such as its habitat and when it was harvested. The reports provide valuable information that is no longer readily available. We hope they will prove useful as a foundation for further researches and that the work of our predecessors can be revitalized.

The reports were received from Dr. H. Morishima in the summer of 2010 and digitization of the reports began immediately. Since the original reports were typewritten, we had to use OCR in our digitization process, which can be problematic. Dr. H. Morishima was going to help proofread the final version of the digitized reports. Unfortunately, she passed away in November of 2010. We have tried our best to discover and correct mistakes on our own but should you come across any errors in the reports, we ask for your co-operation to inform us about it.

We sincerely pray that Dr. H. Morishima rests in peace and we hope that these reports will spark interests in rice whilst conveying the passion of its pioneer researchers.
