tph2^ex6delta13

Strain information
Strain ID MT1074
Strain Name tph2^ex6delta13
Strain Type Mutants
Characteristics Tryptophan hydroxylase 2 (tph2) gene was disrupted in a d-rR strain using TALENs. This mutant carries a 13-bp deletion in the 6th exon of the tph2 gene. Homozygous mutants lost a neurotransmitter serotonin (5-HT) in tph2-expressing neurons whose axons are projected from raphe nuclei in the brain stem to the whole brain. Homozygous mutants showed behavioral alterations, such as an increased freezing response when the fish were a novel tank, and curved vertebral columns.
Notes Please note that we will use OK-Cab (MT830) for artificially insemination with frozen sperm of this strain.
Homozygote is normally fertile but starts to show curved vertebral columns around their sexual maturation (approximately 2 months post-hatching).
