Characteristics | myf5 (myogenic factor 5) is a basic helix loop helix transcription factor and acts as a myogenic regulatory factor. A fosmid clone (GOLWFno481_a14) including the myf5 gene, which was identified from the Medaka ensemble database, was used for homologous recombination. The EGFP-kanamycin cassette was recombined into exon 1 of the medaka myf5 gene. The medaka Cab line was used for establishment of the myf5-EGFP transgenic medaka. The EGFP expression is observed in muscle cells. |
