Strain ID | TG1137 |
Strain Name | osx:mCherry/rankl:HSE:CFP |
Strain Type | Transgenics |
Characteristics |
This line is double transgenic which derived from osx:mCherry (TG1134)and rankl:HSE:CFP (TG1135). Double transgenic expressing the osteoclast-inducing factor Receptor Activator of Nuclear Factor kB ligand (RANKL) and CFP under bidirectional control of a heat shock-inducible promoter and labelling osterix (osx) expressing osteoblast precursors with mCherry. Upon Rankl induction at 9dpf (incubating embryos at 39°C for 2 hours), in rankl:HSE:CFP larvae, a severe loss in mineralized matrix of most embryos overexpressing Rankl resulting in an osteoporotic phenotype can be observed; with losses varying in extent (Fig. 7A-D. To, TT. et al.,2012). |
