acp5-mCherry-Nuc

Strain information
Strain ID TG1249
Strain Name acp5-mCherry-Nuc
Strain Type Transgenics
Characteristics acp5 (acid phosphatase 5, tartrate resistant), also known as TRAP, is a glycosylated monomeric metalloprotein enzyme. acp5/TRAP is used as a differentiation marker of osteoclasts. A fosmid clone (GOLWFno144_g15) including the acp5 gene, which was identified from the Medaka ensemble database, was used for homologous recombination. The mCherry-Nuc-kanamycin cassette was recombined into exon 1 of the medaka acp5 gene. The medaka Cab line was used for establishment of the acp5-mCherry-Nuc transgenic medaka. The mCherry expression is observed in nuclei of putative osteoblasts.

Lateral view of tail region of ca. 8.5 mm larva. mCherry-expression is observed in nucleus of putative osteoclast cells. The putative osteoclast cells are located on vertebral arches (arrowheads) and anal fin (arrow).
