A 20 bp deletion in exon 15 of neurogenic locus notch homolog protein 1(Notch1a) gene was generated by CRISPR/Cas9. This mutation is expected to introduce frame-shift mutation and anticipated to produce dysfunction in the Notch1a protein. Almost all of the homozygous mutants are found to develop abnormally, and fatal.
