Strain ID | TG1133 |
Strain Name | osc:eGFP |
Strain Type | Transgenics |
Characteristics |
Single transgenic line labelling osteocalcin (osc) expressing osteoblasts with GFP. Transgene: The osteocalcin is a secretory protein found exclusively in bone tissue. It is secreted by mature osteoblasts in medaka; used as a terminal differentiation marker of osteogenesis in mammals. The transgenic line construct was made by cloning a genomic fragment (3.7k bp) encompassing the osteocalcin promoter region from the genomic DNA of the medaka in front of EGFP into a vector with flanking I-SceI meganuclease restriction sites. |
