FUNCTION:Mediates the interactions of dnaA with the beta subunit sliding clamp, promoting hydrolysis of dnaA-bound ATP. It is essential for the control of initiation of DNA replication by inhibiting reinitiation of replication. ADP-binding activates hda to hydrolyze dnaA-ATP; monomers bind to ADP with about 200-fold greater affinity than for ATP. SUBUNIT:The active form seems to be an ADP-bound monomer; apo-hda form homo-multimers that do not hydrolzye dnaA-bound ATP. Forms a large complex with ATP-dnaA, ADP-hda and the DNA-loaded clamp.
