Overall, it is brownish red and it is a stronger hue of brown compared to Samia cynthia ricini. It has a brownish red abdomen and the Samia cynthia pryeri has a white abdomen. Therefore, it is easy to distinguish between the both. The tip of its forewing is shaped like a head of a snake. The crescent patterns on its wing are impressive.
