Seedlings of 136 strains or varieties of Aegilops squarrosa L., which were collected by the Kyoto University Scientific Expedition to the Karakoram and Hindukush (KIHARA and YAMASHITA, 1956), were tested with uredospores of yellow rust, Puccinia striiformis WESTENDORF (P. glumarum ERIKSSON et HENNING), brown rust, P. recondita ROBERGE et DESM. f. sp. tritici (P. triticina ERIKSSON) and black rust, P. graminis PERSOON f. sp. tritici.
The experimental results are summarized as the following table.
