Nine years have passed since Kihara and his collaborators (1948) synthesized 6x-wheat from the crosses Emmer wheat x Aegilops squarrosa. During these years, the present writer has selected the individuals of ABD No. 4 with 2n=42, which showed varying configurations at MI as 21II, 20II+2I, 19II+4I, and 18II+6I. The univalents occurred with fairly high frequency. The results of cytological observations in 1956 and 1957 are shown in the following table. So far 70-80 percent of the offspring revealed 2n=42, while about 20% revealed 2n=41, and others revealed 2n=39, 40, 43, or 44.
