Identification of univalents in synthesized wheat,
ABD-12 Jun-ichiro TABUSHI Kyoto Kasei College, Uji, Kyoto, Japan For the purpose of identifying the univalents found in synthesized wheat ABD-12, an amphiploid of T. dicoccoides spontaneo-nigrum x Ae. squarrosa strangulata by TANAKA(1961), chromosome pairing of F1 hybrids between ditelosomes of Chinese Spring wheat and ABD-12 was investigated. Identification of univalents was deduced from the percentage of cells with heteromorphic bivalent. As shown in Table 1, out of 19 combinations, a combination ditelo 3B long x ABD-12 revealed only 3.1% of cells with heteromorphic bivalent. In short it seems to indicate that a univalent of ABD-12 is 3B. In other 2 combinations, ditelo 4AAlpha x ABD-12 and ditelo 2B long x ABD-12, the frequencies were 42.1% and 33.4% respectively. These facts seem also to show that two univalents are 4A and 2B. (Received Nov. 8, 1971) |
