| In Yamagata Perfecture Nishimura and Fultz were the recommended
varieties, but in 1935 the large spike and short stem of Norin 10
called attention, and this became the recommended variety. From 1942 till
1951 Norin 10 occupied from 22% to 28% of the total wheat cultivation
