| Amphidiploids from the hybrids T. Timopheevi x
Ae. umbellulata and T. vulgare x Ae. Kotschyi
K. MATSUMOTO and J. TABUSHI Kihara Institute for Biological Research, Kyoto, Japan In 1935, the amphidiploids from T. Timopheevi (AAGG) x Ae. umbellulata (CuCu) and T. vulgare (AABBDD) x Ae. Kotschyi (CuCuSvSv) were induced by colchicine treatment. The former amphidiploid and its progeny always showed fairly good pairing at MI, such as 21II+2I. In the latter amphidiploid and its offspring the chromosome pairing was not very good and often univalents were seen, while polyvalents were rare. |
